John Houston: A Retrospective

John Houston was a Royal Scottish Academician, a Member of the Royal Scottish Society of Painters in Watercolours, and a Member of the Royal Glasgow Institute. He lived and worked in Edinburgh and was married to the artist Elizabeth Blackadder.

1948-54 Studied at Edinburgh College of Art

1955 Lecturer at Edinburgh College of Art

1982-89 Deputy Head of the School of Painting and Drawing, Edinburgh College of Art

1990 Created a Member of the Order of the British Empire (OBE)

2004 LLD Heriot Watt University

2008 Died 27th September in Edinburgh
